Parambikulam, Valparai, Aliyar - 

What is your utmost expectations, that determines what kind of destinations you have to go for a vacation. Some people may travel to relieve mental stress, some may for a change in life, some may prefer to be with nature for some time, some people wants to explore new places and culture and some people may travel to experience different climates. The expenses that they wish to meet will different for different people. So according to our pocket we have to take best option.

This is about a tourist destination in India which is referred as one among the best 10 natural destinations in world one must see within his/her life time by many travelogues. This is called Kerala. Though it is a small state in India and located at the southern part ,it is a diversified land with its own cultural identity and highest level of literature. About 30 % of its population is working abroad mainly Arabian countries, Europe and USA for decades and are in touch with their motherland helped the people of Kerala to upgrade and update the living standard. Thus the people of Kerala are familiar with different cultures and accept it to their level. The standard of living conditions of Kerala people are almost similar to many European countries as identified by UN and is top in India. This help a foreign traveller to communicate with local people. The high level literary rate and education level of the people of Kerala makes it different from other parts of the country.

Located near to Earth's equator and geographically similar to lands like Srilanka , Philippines , Thailand , Malaysia and Indonesia this land is good for both luxury and budget travel. The beauty of this destination is the availability of tremendous hill stations,beautiful rivers and backwaters, delightful coastal destinations, houseboats and river cruise, forest trekking and its own cultural celebrations and festivals. Here it is mentioned some gems in Kerala, can be covered in a short distance which are not so famous in travel maps and so most of the outside people are unaware of that. While selecting many of these places for travelling, one must have preplanned to arrange for taxi and accommodation otherwise it will be difficult to find out there. ( you may not see the facilities easily in Google map)

Valparai, Aliyar, Parambikulam.

This is a hill station in the western ghat in Tamil Nadu - Kerala border. To reach these 3 locations one must travel from Pollachi ( which is safe route,another route is there from Athirappilly waterfall in Kerala). The road towards the place is full of scenery and is forest route.

The fist place of tourist attraction is Aliyar. This is a dam site along with it is a park. An exotic view of Aliyar river can be enjoyed from the view point. This is inside thick forest and so the environment is saved by nature from human interaction. One can see wild animals on their ride through highway. Next attraction is the place called Monkey falls which is a beautiful waterfall where everyone take bath in the natural waters. Then there are so many hairpins in road leading to hill. Loam's view point is on the way. This is a famous tiger reserve and so there happened so many casualties in the valparai town when wild animals attacked common people. There can found the distant long tea estates. Some other attractions nearby valparai are Nallamudi view point and Birla waterfalls.

On the way to Valparai you have to divert the route to reach Parambikulam tiger reserve which is in the state of Kerala ( the only way to reach Parambikulam is through Tamil Nadu only though it is in Kerala). The dam site is under the control of Kerala forest department. There is an island inside the river and inside it is a resort run by Kerala government tourism department. It is placed there thus save the tourist from attack from wild animals. There won't be any human being other than the government people. Night stay is not preferred for ladies and families.There is a lot of attractions in and around Parambikulam, but one must book in advance for stay and transport. If you can accompanied by a person well known about the place, then this will be enjoyable.

Food and accommodation.

There are a lot of lodges and resorts in Valparai , Aliyar river side and Parambikulam. Food courts are also available with Tamil ethnic food like IDLI,VADAI,DOSA,PUTTU,RICE,CHAPPATHI, etc..
